One-off woodwind ensemble workshops in central Scotland,
specifically intended for adult learners or 'returners'
on flute, oboe, clarinet or bassoon.
(NEW for 2012: Introductory-level saxophone
workshops - more details)
Are you a relative beginner seeking entry-level
experience of playing in a group situation? Or perhaps
you have fairly good technical skills but would like to
develop confidence and extend your experience in a
relaxed and friendly context. Or maybe you are looking
for the chance of a 'good blow' and some sight-reading
challenges, without the need to make a regular
commitment.
Blow & Blast offers several different playing
opportunities:
Group 'Taster' Session
Always wanted to play a woodwind instrument but don't
know where to start?
An opportunity to try for the sound on flute and
clarinet and find out more.
You may also find our
starting up advice of use.
Introductory
A limited range of notes? Little
previous musical experience?
Come and enjoy making music in a
friendly group of other struggling musicians!
Intermediate
Added to our programme by popular
request - for those who are too good for the
introductory group but not yet expert! You should be
reasonably familiar with the working range of the
instrument and comfortable about sight-reading in a
variety of not-too-intimidating key and time signatures. |
Blow & Blast Woodwind Band
A fun play-along catering for a
mixture of standards.
